On November 19, the group DAGAMBA experienced one of their biggest dreams - they performed an impressive solo concert in New York, USA. The concert took place in New York's important Town Hall concert hall. The Americans received the band with sincerity and a standing ovation!
The USA, being the largest music market globally, is a challenging arena to enter. The solo concert at the New York concert hall is a remarkable and unparalleled event not just for the group DAGAMBA, but also for independent musicians and music groups from Latvia overall.
"Performing at the iconic Town Hall concert venue is a tremendous honor, as it has hosted renowned artists like Celine Dion, Bob Dylan, Whitney Houston, Louis Armstrong, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Charlie Parker, and many other distinguished figures," the band's musicians expressed joyfully.
Musician Valters Pūce adds: "As modest Latvians, there are moments when we can express our pride openly because this is a dream realized and a significant milestone for the entire Latvian music scene!" We take pride in showcasing Latvia to the world! It was impactful and emotional, it was immense!”
DAGAMBA reached New York a few days before November 18 to commemorate Latvia's Independence Day at the UN headquarters, performing a concert for diplomats worldwide.
DAGAMBA has performed in the US at various charity events and concerts organized by Latvians. However, this is their first significant solo concert for an American audience. Many musicians aspire to gain recognition beyond their home countries, and DAGAMBA has accomplished this. As they say, it is a dream realized, but it's only the beginning!
