Classical music hooligans band DAGAMBA and singer Miks Galvanovskis come out with a collaboration and present a joint song and music video "Vēlos Pats Būt"!
The author of the music is Valters Pūce, and the words are written by Miks Galvanovskis. Thoughts about the song and collaboration started more than a year ago, but it was this time that both of them came up with the right idea, which resulted in a rock music genre song and video.
The song "Vēlos Pats Būt" proves that rock music is becoming relevant and needed again!
“With the band DAGAMBA we create instrumental music every day, where we are inspired by the greats of classical music. We fuse classical music with various genres of today's music with an emphasis on rock music. In our creative activity, we also focus on collaborations with bright vocalists at special moments. This song was written together with Miks Galvanovskis, who, despite the dominance of hip-hop music among young people, has turned to rock music and is doing it brilliantly. With this collaboration, we hope to make rock music relevant again, because it feels like the time has come. Miks's vocals and the sound of the Dagamba band fit perfectly together and create a strong energy," Valters Puce expresses his thoughts.
Miks continues about the content of the song: "I want to be myself" is about the fight with yourself and reminds you that no one else but you will be able to win it. At the moment, this internal dialogue, which we all come to during our lives, is a rather topical topic, so I wanted to highlight it especially loudly - it happens to many. Often this is the point that people cannot overcome, and abandon their dreams and hopes. With the lyrics of the song, I wanted to convey that we all have to fight with ourselves, as well as inspire us to move forward, no matter how difficult it is!"
An exciting video was also made for the song. "When I found out about the joint project of Dagamba and Miks, I wanted to offer, with a small dose of humor, a fantasy version of how this collaboration could have been created. All of this was energized by the opportunity to work with the most diverse types of people in the work process, who have rock in their hearts," says director Reinis Ūbelis about the idea and process of the video.
Happy listening and viewing - LET'S MAKE ROCK GREAT AGAIN!
